🍡Grandma, why do we fast?🍡

🌿 Review by Siham Obaid:
For a long time, the only answer to this question was:
= (To feel for the poor and needy),
- So why do the poor and needy fast then?! 👀
= [Cricket chirping sound] 🤐

In this book, number (9) in the series:
Happy Childhood by Instilling Faith
We learn with Hassan and his grandmother about the ten secrets of fasting 🌹

The book begins with a scene of Hassan with his family as they prepare for the arrival of Ramadan.
Then the month passes, and Grandma wants to reward Hassan for fasting throughout the month.

But he confesses to her that he was only pretending to fast, and that he couldn't actually continue fasting.

At this point, Grandma tells him that she will help him prepare for the upcoming Ramadan by practicing fasting throughout the year.

Hassan is startled by this and tells her that he couldn't even fast for one month,
so how will he be able to fast for the entire year?

Grandma tells him that she means they will only practice fasting on supererogatory days, not all days of the year.

Over the days and months, Hassan learns from his grandmother the secrets of fasting and its reward and virtue,
through practical situations and examples that Grandma uses to convey the meaning to Hassan indirectly,
and then to deduce the meaning from those situations,
and to mention the legal evidence from the Quran and the Sunnah.

*🔹️* We first learn about the importance and reward of (supererogatory fasting).
Then we embark on a journey with Hassan and his grandmother to learn about 10 secrets or virtues of fasting.

*🔹️* In addition, we learn about the most important days for supererogatory fasting throughout the year,
such as:
Mondays and Thursdays
The White Days (Ayyam al-Bid)
Day of Arafah
Day of Ashura
Voluntary fasting in Sha'ban

*🔹️* And also, through Hassan's daily life with his grandmother,
we learn about many Sunnahs and religious matters,
such as:
The good ending and its meaning, the Sunnah of regularly using the miswak, and others.

And as is customary with Hassan's character:

🔸 He is a child like all children >> not the perfect character who makes no mistakes.
He has mistakes that his grandmother addresses, advises him on, and teaches him, and he responds to her.

🔸 He is very playful and tells many jokes.
We laughed a lot when he took (two chickens) for himself and said that he read in the book:
(For the fasting person, two chickens)

🔸 He loves rewards very much.
Grandma uses this point and always encourages him with rewards, while maintaining balance in this matter.
