🌿 Review by Professor Siham Obaid, adapted 🌷
The first children's story I've seen that discusses obligatory zakat, its types, and the eligible categories.
A story that deserves excellence with honors 🌟
Starting from the idea of addressing this important topic,
to the story's scenario that effectively serves the goal,
and reaching the beautiful rhyming words and sentences that lend elegance and rhythmic impact to the text.
🌿 The events take place in a town and tell the story of Uncle Salama, known for his wisdom and trustworthiness. People bring him their zakat money for him to collect and distribute to those in need.
🌿 At the beginning, we learn about the different categories for which zakat is due through the people who come to Uncle Salama and give him their zakat...
Some give him zakat on crops (plants and fruits)
Others give him zakat on gold savings
Others give him zakat on cash money
And others pay zakat on livestock (cattle)
And others pay zakat on trade goods (represented by shop merchandise)
🌿 After collecting these zakats, Uncle Salama and his assistant Osama go to distribute them to the eligible recipients.
Here, we learn about the eight specific categories entitled to zakat, who are mentioned in the verse in Surat At-Tawbah:
The poor / the needy / those employed to collect it
those whose hearts are to be reconciled / for freeing captives
those in debt / for the cause of Allah / and for the wayfarer
🌿 And through the story, we learn how Uncle Salama will deal with the categories that no longer exist today, such as (for freeing captives).
🌿 Through examples, the child learns the meaning and definition of each eligible category, and the difference between (the poor) and (the needy).
🌿 As for the illustrations 🎨
They might seem a bit strange and unfamiliar due to their unique style.
At first glance, we thought the cover drawing was a genie coming out of Aladdin's lamp ^ــــ^
But they are nevertheless distinctive and provide wonderful additional information not mentioned in the text,
such as illustrations showing the amount of gold zakat, the amount of money zakat, and zakat on trade goods.
🌿 And of course, the details of the zakat amount and its obligation vary depending on the type, and one should refer to Islamic jurisprudence books for details.
🌿 Book size 22*22
🌿 16 pages, and the entire text is vowelled.
🌿 Weight 90 gr
‼️ Most of the stories came with a slightly bent cover corner, but it's not significant and does not reduce the price ‼️
