🌿 Publisher's review:
The Stories of the Pillars of Islam series consists of five stories
– Layla in a Muslim country (Shahada - Declaration of Faith)
– Layla and the flying prayer rug (The Pillar of Prayer)
– Layla on the Zakat train (The Pillar of Zakat)
– Layla and the Musahharati Dawoud (The Pillar of Fasting)
– Grandma Manal returns from Hajj (The Pillar of Hajj)
The Stories of the Pillars of Islam series has been carefully translated and edited from Turkish..
We made sure during editing to rephrase what was necessary and add indispensable elements to make the lines and meanings coherent, and to complete the harmonious benefits in line with their purpose, making them of an excellent standard for the age group this series is intended for.
🌿 My opinion:
The stories are, of course, fictional 😊 The first story is "symbolic" about a city called the City of Islam.. Entry through the door is exclusively by uttering the Shahada, and without it, there is no entry.. The city is wonderfully beautiful.. Comforting to the soul.. And it contains all noble morals..
The symbolism of the story is about Islam and how its foundation is the Shahada, and how the laws of Islam were established by the Lord of the Worlds to make people happy, as it protects them from everything that harms them and spreads justice among them ❤️
The second story is about Layla when she started praying.. I really loved the idea of Layla's love for prayer so she could thank God for His great blessings and that she enjoys worship because it is her way of thanking God..
It is fictional; for example, the conversation took place between her and the prayer rug that she received as a gift because she started praying 😁
The third story is about Zakat.. And I really, really liked that it was mentioned several times that Zakat is given from people's best wealth.. In the story, the girls gave away their best toys and clothes.. But what I felt should be clarified by the parents is the difference between charity (sadaqah) and Zakat, which is not clarified in the story.
The fourth story is about Ramadan.. Its idea is beautiful "except for the part where Layla went out with her brother the Musahharati at night to wake people up.. I didn't like that part 😅"
Anyway, the story is about the experience of fasting the first day.. And the most important point was not to write "to feel what the poor feel".. No, the truth of fasting was mentioned, that it is obedience and worship and teaches us patience and endurance.. And that it is normal to be hungry and thirsty and we all feel that.. I also liked the mention of some rules of fasting, such as what happens if we forget and eat..
The fifth story is about Hajj.. Layla's grandmother goes to Hajj and returns afterwards, telling Layla about Hajj, the Kaaba, and the Hajj of the prophets, and Layla wishes to visit the Kaaba and prays daily to go to the Kaaba.. until her wish came true and she went with her family ❤️
